Growing up, Brielan's first career was as a soccer goalkeeper, competing at the NCAA Division I level at Arkansas State University while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She was no stranger to mental and physical endurance. However, her early experiences with chronic pain and witnessing her family’s struggles with chronic illness ignited a broader awareness of the systemic complexities surrounding health and wellness.
“What does it truly mean to be healthy?” became a guiding question in her life after retiring from soccer due to concussions. This moment marked the first of many pivotal transitions. Rather than allow adversity to define her, Brielan shifted her focus to public health and research, earning an MSc in Epidemiology from McGill University. During her degree, she participated in a traineeship with the Canadian Institute of Health Research, where she began shaping her vision for data-driven, socially aware health solutions. Her efforts culminated in the development of a multinational database to examine social inequalities in health, further solidifying her mission to advocate for marginalized communities.

She has held roles at organizations such as Veeva, HealthVerity, PrecisionAQ, and the Arkansas Bioscience Institute, where she has focused on approaches that go beyond treating symptoms to addressing the root causes of poor health outcomes.
